A square light-colored concrete coaster featuring a vermiculated pattern directly inspired by the stone ornaments that adorn Haussmann-era building facades and the walls of the Louvre.
Format:
- ~140 g · 9 × 9 × 0.6 cm · with cork backing
Hand-poured; not printed. No plastic 3D printing, no automated production. Every cast is made by hand in my workshop - under the rooftops of Paris - in light-colored concrete. The vermiculated pattern is reproduced with precision at every pour - with that cold, dense, mineral feel that contrasts with the glass or ceramic placed on top.
A characterful everyday object: This coaster fits just as naturally in a contemporary interior as in a Haussmann-era apartment. It works alone or as a set, on a coffee table, a desk, or a console. And because each piece is hand-cast, slight variations in tone and texture may appear - that's what makes every coaster unique.
The perfect gift for Paris lovers: A useful, beautiful object rooted in the history of the capital. Lovers of mineral design, Parisian architecture, and handcrafted objects - this coaster is made for them.
Order & Shipping: Coasters are available in stock, ready to ship within 2 business days. Each piece is packaged in a cardboard box padded with wood wool, then shipped via tracked Colissimo.
The vermiculated pattern, from Pierre Lescot to Baron Haussmann: Vermiculation is a carved stone ornament shaped like worm tracks, used since the Italian Renaissance to give a living, aged texture to stone facades. In Paris, it can be found on the base of the Louvre - particularly on the facades by Pierre Lescot, dating from the 16th century - as well as on many Haussmann-era buildings and private mansions. It is this ornament - sinuous, Parisian, steeped in history - that this coaster seeks to capture.
